Song Entitled: “Trust Him” by BATAYAH

From the CD "Simply BATAYAH"

Contemporary gospel singer BATAYAH brings the laidback swagger and confidence of neo-soul to her performance of “Trust Him.”

Like a good friend offering practical advice, BATAYAH tells you to keep the faith, no matter what your trial may be, whether a death in the family, personal health issues, economic woes, or unemployment. “Don’t give up,” she sings. “It’s just a test.”

The singer, whose name means “Daughter of Yahweh,” was born in North Carolina, has earned bachelors and MBA degrees, and served in the U.S. Armed Forces. She was recently nominated in two categories by the South Florida Gospel Music Awards (SFGMA): Best Female Contemporary Artist and for Best Gospel Album (Simply BATAYAH).

Song Entitled: “Get Up”

From the album "Simply BATAYAH"

Fueled by an insistent guitar/bass riff that sounds plucked from Chic’s “Le Freak” but cloaked overall in atmospheric neo-soul with a touch of house, “Get Up” implores the listener not to worry because God can do anything….so “serve Him today.”

The lovely Batayah’s latest single is an eminently danceable praise song.

Batayah is nominated in four categories in the upcoming 2012 Rhythm Of Gospel Awards, including Artist of the Year. Honoring the independent gospel artist, the Rhythm of Gospel Awards will be held July 28, 2012 in Jacksonville, Florida.

Very beautiful and special song! The reader sings very calmly and pleasantly. The lyrics are very meaningful and well written. I fell in love with the magnificent tone of this artist. The melody is really pleasant. The power of this artist's voice is exciting. The song played with my soul. Batayah knows how to excite the audience.
